Hello Bill. Many thanks for the information and the photograph #922. It is a fine one indeed. I unfortunately cannot say that the young lady Marie Mitchell is the same girl as I knew. If it is she I was a fortunate to have known her, but the hair dressing occupation and year fit. I was stationed at Invergordon for about eleven months, eighteen years old at the time and had a Yorkshire accent. I did meet Marie's mother and father once or twice, and they used to keep an eye on us from the balcony above the dance floor. I was in Inverness in 1978 on holiday from Christchurch New Zealand, but never made that last few miles to Invergordon. I have read some interesting history about Invergordon and it's association with the Royal Navy and the mutiny. I do hope to visit again. Kindest Regards Eric Holton.
