A sailor's Funeral at Invergordon

A postcard showing a sad day at Invergordon. This is the western end of the High Street looking north-east. To the left of the picture can be seen the premises of the saw mill whicle the Academy (Park School) and the Church can be seen in the background. The building which is now the Library can be seen further up the street.
The date is a guess.

This shot must be close to my parents' former home 4 High Street. The procession must be on its way to Rosskeen cemetery. I was told that 4 & 6 High Street were houses used by the Saw Mill staff.

I could be wrong about this but I think the open space to the right of this pic was used in the 1940s to keep goats. I think they belonged to the then Provost?

To right of the sawmill, where the RC Chapel now stands, was a small field and I can remember goats being kept there in the 50s.

Both correct....yes you are correct there was a field where the Roman Catholic church stands now and there were goats kept there...used to see them each time I used to go to the train station to meet someone...
