Airplane in the Water

A crashed airplane being recovered from the Firth. The plane is a biplane, type unknown. Any ideas on what happened and when?

Could this be a type of seaplane from Cromarty? One of the first seaplane bases in the UK was set up at Cromarty at the turn of the century - perhaps it is worth a bit of research..who knows what could be uncovered about it all..

(Good point - the Cromarty Image Library has more on the seaplane base - Site Admin.)
