Rachael and Dan Sutherland

These were my Grandparents Rachael and Dan Sutherland who lived at 136 High Street before moving to Shore Road. The photo was taken in my Aunt's garden in Queen St, No. 43 I think!

Joe, Dan looks familiar to me. Perhaps if you told me where he worked, I would remember better.

Joe I can recall your grandmother and know exactly where 136 High Street was. I am not sure whose it was but I used to take a baby out in its pram from that address when I was about twelve yeas old. Could it have been a child of Nora's? It wouldn't have been you as I am only four years older than you.

Harry, I belive that one time he was the grieve at Balintraid, then I remember him working for a construction firm at Conon Bridge; after that he worked on the hydro-elctric dam at Cannich? Then he retired at age 65. He passed away when he about 82/3 years of age in '72/3!

Janet, that may have been one of my cousins Yvonne or Gordon Hearn - they were Sybil's children. Sadly Yvonne passed away suddenly in Dingwall where she had married and settled down. If it was Nora's then it would have been either Donald or Josephine!

Joe, I should have waited to see this photo as well before my last comment. I knew your Granny when she came to visit Nora. I also remember taking Donald for walks in his pram. Janet, it looks like Donald was not short on being taken out for walks.

Rosalie, I remember being so impressed hearing you playing the Minute Waltz on the piano at your Grandmother's house in Clyde Street. I hated school singing classes with Miss Nichol as I could not sing and always admired your beautiful singing voice.

Janet, thanks for your comment. I don't play the piano anymore. When I stopped the piano lessons with Jim Maclennan I was told that I would regret it when I was older. He was right, and I do.!! My four daughters play the piano beautifully and sing really well. I remember you so well and it's so good to see your comments on this site.
