Vanda, another great picture!!! What a winter that was. Doug, that was also the year of the ice on the water by the pier. I used to go and have a look when I visited Joey and Ackie Innes, who lived opposite you on Shore Road.

Rosalie, glad somebody else remembers the ice floes - some of them were big enough to stand on but not for long as the sea was freezing cold. Do you remember when they used to pull the crashed seaplanes up by the slipway? - also the Sunderland which they landed on the other side of the swimming pool?
